Sat Sri Akal ji,
I have a question this incident recently happened with one of my colleagues.
A company I am not disclosing the name here. Hired my colleague and issued an offer letter. My colleague resign from her current company and after notice period she contacted to her new company for joining and they called her on the same date which was earlier fixed as the joining date.
Now, when she went for joining, company told her the project for which they hiring candidate is not confirmed so they did not get hired her and she did not allow her to join. She contacted head of HR but they did not allow her.
Now, my colleague did not have any option because she did not have any job in her hands.
Is there any law regarding or to handle these kind of issues?
Please give a descriptive answer so my colleague / friend can get benefited.

Dear
This is case of fraud clearly 420 IPC. No speical Act for woman will apply here. Police complaint should be moved. Apart from the Police Complaint she should move to court for restoring her rights and claiming compensation from the concern company. If company has issued your friend offer letter with date then they are bound to join her.

Sorry to interrupt here sir,
As per my knowing a offer letter is an invitation to join any candidate and I dont think that this invitation bind any company for joining?
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Yes sir u r wrong. An offer letter is not invitation. It is there consideration. They are bound by this specialy when they have mentiond date of joining on the offer letter.

I think it all depends on the contents of offer letter. Whether any reservation has been made by employer in offer letter or employment notice. These all has to be seen. Then law can decide the matter.
