As we are going to start a new section i.e. Gurbani Vichar from 1st August 2010. I want to clarify the meaning of Gurbani.

Gurbani means  any composition of Gurus.Gurbani is composed of two words: 'Gur', which means 'the Guru's' and 'bani', which means  'word'.

Gutkas (small books ) are extracts from Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji containing the sections of Gurbani.

Nitnem Banis

The Banis Japji Sahib, Jaap Sahib, Tav-Parsad Savaiye,Choupai Sahib, Anand Sahib are to be  read daily according to the Sikh Rehat Maryada.
These are recited by Sikhs in the early morning.

Rehras Sahib is read in the evening (at sunset) and Kirtan Sohila is read before going to sleep at night.
